“I am in my third month of Pilates Plus. I have never stuck with any exercise programme for this long. There have been great results in tone, weight and flexibility. Classes are deliberately small which allows for closer one-on-one supervision without the expense of a personal trainer. The 55 minute work out is intense, fast moving, varied and the time passes really quickly. Emma pushes hard but is always encouraging and makes the whole experience fun.” – Liam, Dun Laoghaire
“This is brilliant!! I’ve never done any other exercise that would get your whole body working. I love the classes: always tough & challenging but also great fun. After 2 months I can definitely feel the benefits – better posture, flexibility & strength – & the shape is improving, slowly but surely… Thank you for bringing Pilates Plus to Dublin! “ – Linda, Ballsbridge
“This is a fitness class like no other. It has greatly improved my flexibility, posture and attitude towards exercise. The class is high energy and Emma is so enthusiastic and encouraging she always succeeds in pushing you further. A welcome addition to the Dublin fitness scene. Highly recommended. Keep up the good work!!” – John, Dun Laoghaire
“In two months of attending Pilates Plus Dublin classes my body looks more toned and I have actually dropped a dress size (without dieting!). My muscles have got so much stronger and when I get on my bike I can actually cycle now for longer than 5 minutes at a time. PPD is fantastic for someone like me who is time poor as it combines cardio and toning in the one session. My energy levels have soared and I am very pleased with myself.” – Alice, Shankill
“I love finding the latest exercise craze and when I was passing the new Pilates Plus ’shop’ I instantly wanted to find out what it was all about. I went online and was intrigued by the picture of a machine that looked like a “rack” which you could have mistaken for a torture device from the middle Ages!
I have practiced Pilates for many years in London and on retuning home to Ireland, I always found it frustrating that each time I started a new course of Pilates I had to start at the beginners level each time, so when I called Emma and naively asked her if her Pilates Plus classes were at a basic level, Emma assures me that her classes were not traditional Pilates as I knew and I would get a very different experience from her classes. So I paid online, booked online (my kind of operation) and off I went. How hard could this be? I consider myself to be fairly fit, having worked with a personal trainer previously, I horse ride and I swim.
My first class was such enlightenment I knew I had found my newest addiction. Emma guided me in the use of the machine while putting me through my paces. I really didn’t know what to expect, but from the beginning of the class I worked my ass off, literally! I was lulled into a false sense of security with some of the exercises and then Emma started talking about “scrambled eggs” I thought we were all getting dietary advice. How wrong was I! All the exercises have their own name and initially I could only do some of the exercises badly, looking in despair at some of the other girls who look like elastic bands. The classes fly and before you now it you’re done and hobble home, delighted with yourself, because you managed “catfish” for the first time. Now a month later, I can just about manage “scrambled eggs” with and without straps! The fact that I feel so much fitter and can see a visible difference in my shape gives me a real thrill. Pilates Plus is no fad, but a brilliant all over workout.” – Naomi, Dalkey
