WHAT IS PILATES PLUS?
Simply put Pilates Plus is a combination of weight training and Pilates. It combines the best of both: the strengthening and toning benefits of weight training and the lengthening & postural enhancing benefits of Pilates in a circuit training sequence to keep the heart rate up and burn extra calories. We incorporate "old school" exercises such as push ups and lunges using the support of the Proformer to eliminate the pressure on the joints and the spine.

I HAVE NEVER DONE PILATES CAN I DO THE CLASSES? OR SHOULD I DO PRIVATE SESSIONS FIRST?
It depends on your current fitness level 99% of our new students do just fine in the classes. The workout is intense but the routine is kept simple to make sure everyone is using good form. However, if you have chronic pain in your spine and/or in your joints or have a severe medical condition, it is recommended to do a private session first to assess your fitness level. If you are unsure as to whether or not you should practice Pilates Plus due to any health problems please consult your doctor. It is the duty of the student to inform the teacher of all illnesses or weaknesses of whatever nature as it will be helpful to the teacher in ensuring your safety.

WHAT SHOULD I BRING TO CLASS?
First, bring a towel as you will most likely sweat ;)

Second, although we have water students like to bring their own water. So bring water!!

Third, wear loose, comfortable clothes that allow your muscles to stretch and your skin to "breath."

Fourth, jewellery is NOT a good idea.  Necklaces may catch in the springs system (and they can be a nightmare to get out of it) and you may forget it or lose it. But wearing jewellery is a choice for you to make.

Fifth, No mobile phones during class -- please be respectful of others.

Sixth, No strong perfumes as some students are allergic.

Seventh, Money! If you are about to renew please bring payment.
Most of our clientele pay on-line using our automated system.
Please understand that no classes can be confirmed if not prepaid.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I PRACTICE PILATES PLUS?
The workout is designed to work your body to muscle failure at which point you need to rest. Depending on your fitness level and the intensity of your workout, you will need more or less time to recover. I would recommend 2 to 3 times a week to allow your body to properly recover and repair. Some students love the workout so much that they come 5 or 6 times a week. Listen to your body.

WHAT IF I CAN'T COME TO CLASS AND I HAVE ALREADY BEEN CONFIRMED? WILL I BE CHARGED?
Yes, even if it's your first time. We absolutely require 24hrs notice before making any kind of changes to your schedule. The same rules apply to the €199 unlimited special. During this special offer, we will charge an additional €25 each time you cancel or reschedule a class without giving us the full 24hrs notice. There are no exceptions to that rule.

WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO TALK TO SOMEONE ABOUT SCHEDULING CLASSES AND TO LEARN HOW TO USE THE ONLINE BOOKING SYSTEM?
If you are having trouble using the Online booking system please call or email the studio, please leave a voicemail if we do not answer your call as we may be in the middle of a class and we will get back to you as soon as we can.

WHAT EXERCISE WOULD YOU RECOMMEND IN ADDITION TO PILATES PLUS?
Power walking is a perfect accompaniment. A lot of students swear by the combination of Yoga, particularly the Ashtanga style and Pilates Plus, saying it's the perfect combo. Some recommend spinning. I would say mix it up. Variety is the spice of life.
